BLF Easter

BLF (Berlin Leather Fetish) are having their regular Easter festivities with over 20 events from March 26 to April 2 all within 10 minutes amble of Nollendorfplatz in the heart of gay Berlin. Venues are the Axel Hotel, Reizbar, Scheune, the Military Store, Apollo Sauna, Goya and Woof. The highlight is the election of German Mr. Leather at the Axel Hotel on Sunday 31. Coming up at Easter (March 29) it's the BLF leather / rubber weekend and BLF are looking for candidates for German Mr Leather. If you fancy your chances email vorstand@blf.de. They will probably be looking for Berlin Mr Leather and Berlin Mr Rubber too.

Shut up and do something!

CSD (Gay Pride) Berlin have decided on their motto for 2013: "Schluss mit Sonntagsreden! Demonstrieren! Wählen! Verändern!".
Literally translated that's "Stop the Sunday speeches! Demonstrate! Vote! Change!". Even our German friends are not sure what Sonntagsreden really means. Sermon? Idle chat? CSD are referring to all the politician's speeches about equalising gay marriage / tax / social security rights. We'll stick with "Shut up and do something! Demonstrate! Vote! Change!", unless anybody can suggest anything better - leave a comment.

Teddy Awards tickets on sale now

They're selling tickets for the Teddy Awards on February 15 now. They are the prizes for best gay films at the Berlinale film festival which runs February 7-17 in Berlin. Ticket prices for the award ceremony range from 27€ to 120€ or only 18€ if you just want to go to the party. Ticket-Hotline: (030) 4799 7474. You can't order them on the internet at www.teddyaward.tv. 10% discount for tickets bought before Christmas.

Snax FC Dec 1

It's Snax FC on Saturday December 1. We avoid the Easter Snax which is usually over full with tourists in expensive rubber gear who don't seem to know what to do. Jack missed the first Snax FC last year, due to excessive partying the nights before, and heard that it was very fresh and good. He was gutted. Note to Jack: Stay in on Friday and be fit for Saturday - he'll be there. Snax FC is at lab.oratory and Berghain starting 11pm on Saturday December 1. Sexual athletes wanted.

World AIDS day on December 1st.

Wigstöckel

The first weekend in October it's the 16th Wigstöckel Festival. It unites trans*people, transvestites, kings, queens, all kinds of queers and anyone who likes to join for a unique event. The Festival is a fundraiser for trans* and queer projects. They have two parties as part of it at SO36 on the 6th and Südblock on the 7th.

Fuck Parade Saturday 25.8

It's not particularly gay but there's some lovely straight totty with their tops off if it's sunny: Fuck Parade goes from Mauerpark to Spreewaldplatz Saturday 25.8 starts 15:00. It's the anarchic alternative to the commercialised love parade with casual trucks blaring techno music. They will probably get off to a late start. Review of the 2010 Fuck parade here. Parkfest Friedrichshain Aug 18

The last gay Berlin open air party of 2012* Parkfest Friedrichshain is on Saturday August 18 from 15:00 with DJs Monique, chrizzT, Harry Collin & White Spirit, Bürger P., Leonie Motzkachel and the Kusinen. Berlin CSD / Gay Pride 2012

There are two parades and a ton of parties. First the official parade starts at 12:00 at the Corner of Gitschiner Strasse / Prinzenstrasse, Kreuzberg then goes Wilhelmstrasse, Niederkirchnerstrasse, Stresemannstrasse, Potsdamer Platz, Ebertstrasse, Hannah-Arendt-Strasse, Französische Strasse, Glinkastrasse, Neustädtische Kirchstrasse, Dorotheenstrasse and ends at Scheidemannstrasse / Yitzhak-Rabin-Strasse and three stages at Brandenburg gate.

Then there's TCSD or the alternative gay pride.
Starts 13:00 in Elsen Strasse, Treptower Park (in front of Treptower Park Center) and ends about 18:00 with a party at Heinrich Platz, Kreuzberg: Stages with speeches, performances, music and stands.

Stadtfest / CSD - the plan

We've got everything you need to know for the Stadtfest and CSD coming up in June when Berlin goes very very gay. Discodamaged Exclusive on CSD

Yesterday Discodamaged had an exclusive interview in a suite at the Zoo hotel with the Berlin CSD organisers. First things first: CSD = Christopher Street Day = Gay Pride and the big gay parade is on Saturday 23 June. What did we find out? Most importantly there's the must have Joycard, then, it's not just a weekend it's a month, then Wissen schafft Akzeptanz, a huge list of events, the Civil Courage prize winners, Schwules Museum in English, Hirschfeld Tage and the Respect Games.

Strassenfest / Stadtfest / City party

June 16 and 17 it's the great gay Berlin street party (Stadtfest) with five stages, over 100 stands with everything from sekt to slings and hundreds of thousands of gay men.
