If you feared clubbing in Paris was as happening and welcoming as well your stereotypical Parisian, you'd be right. Over to our man in Paris who writes:
On Saturday 21 January the French police raided Paris' brand new gay venue and it would appear that they have forced the club to close its backroom. Well anyway for the Pagano night on the 21st January and also for the Beyond visit last Saturday the backroom was most definitely closed.
I hope of course that they can get it opened again but it just goes to show that Paris, whilst only 2 hours away from London, is in terms of its policing of the gay community, in the stone age.
The waiting is over. If you missed the screenings in Hamburg, London or Berlin, now you can see our contribution to the Berlinale: The Bareback Issue by Discodamaged and Alexander Huber.
It's the semi-official song of the OKTOBÄRAOKEFEST at Monstor Ronsons on Sunday Oct 23. All you can drink beer from 7pm to midnight for only 5.99€. We think that means its free after you pay your almost 6€. Judge for yourself, the advert is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmjWKY7DRCQ
A. Spending a good hour categorising your real friends from your work mates and being able to say what you want to the right people and not everybody like Facebook.
We're not doing very well with being banned right now. After being banned by Google ads in Berlin and probably London too, Youtube banned our trailer of The Bareback Issue, so here it is on Vimeo. Click the headline for more info.
After claims and counter claims about what's happening with gay sex and barebacking we decided to find out more - and not by just trying out a few sex parties. We interviewed people in London and Berlin who do it, doctors who know about it and we dropped in on a debate at the RVT in London.
Youtube have banned this innocuous trailer. Please go here to view it on vimeo. The 300 people, who went on the gay pride in Split second largest city in Croatia, were severely outnumbered by the 8000-10000 anti-gay protesters who threw tomatoes, stones and more. Croatia is applying to join the EU and now the EU negotiators are telling them to piss off. That'll teach them.
Meanwhile at Warsaw gay pride there were counter demonstrations - but not so bad - and in Rome at Euro Pride 2011 it was all lovely.
(A peaceful protest and then bang! The thugs are the police BTW)
"At least 18 gay rights protesters were arrested today, 28 May, as they tried to stage a banned Gay Pride parade," reports British human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, who was part of the protest group in Moscow.
Peter reports from the scene: "Eight people were seized by the Kremlin: international gay rights supporters Andy Thayer, Dan Choi and Louis-Georges Tin; plus Moscow Gay Pride committee member, Anna Komarova and other Russian gay activists (names unknown)."
