MAXXX CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS

Gay bar Maxxx at Fuggerstrasse 34, Schöneberg is closing October 31 for renovations. They should reopen 18 December in time for Christmas.

BLF EASTER 2010

The Berlin Leather Fetish club (BLF) and European Confederation of Motorcycle clubs (ECMC) are having their Easter Leather and Fetish meeting at the end of March to beginning of April in gay Berlin. They're holding a series of parties at Woof, Maxxx and Reizbar. There's the German Mr Leather 2010 competition, a leather dinner at the Axel hotel, boat, U-Bahn and bus tours climaxing with a huge fetish cruising party at Universal Hall on Sunday the 4th April. BLF WEEKEND

As well as Hustlaball, Chantal's House of Shame 10th birthday and the Venus porn fair there's the Berlin Leather and Fetish (BLF) weekend in Berlin in October. Their website (http://www.blf.de/) might not be quite up to date, because they go on about parties at Marios and its the recently opened Maxxx now. Maxxx also claim to be their preferred meeting place, so maybe the club meeting on October 6th is there and not in Woof. Not to worry – they are only 2 minutes walk away. Anyhoo, as well as that club meeting there's Rubber Exxtreme in Scheune on Friday 9th October, Rubber Bastards in Stage club the next day and a rubber brunch on the Sunday in 'Marios' (er, Maxxx). So get your rubber sex toys out and enjoy. All dates are in the gay Berlin calendar.

MAXXX

The Tramps / Mario empire is crumbling. First the owner of gay bars Tramps and Marios shortened the happy hours at Tramps and now they've sold Marios. Thank god. It's now called Maxxx and under the management of Klaus. DISCODAMAGED paid a visit to find out his plans. They are having a serious rebuild but remaining open throughout. They even had a building party so the customers could help knock down walls. They're planning to radically improve and expand the play room area (previously it was empty and dismal) and they've already got new comfy garden chairs outside. They'll also be hosting meetings of gay organizations BLF, Rubclub, BOG and some bear club. They're open every day from 2pm to 3am with a happy hour on Tuesdays from 8-10pm and they are having an opening party on 16th October.
