I can hear you asking already, "What's a kneipe?". Kneipe is a very useful German word which means your local pub where you go for a drink with a couple of friends or just to see others who like a tipple. And that's more or less what Hardie's Kneipe is, with two exceptions:
1) Most of the clientele are charming middle to older aged Schöneberg queens (among whom I count myself). And one of whom said to me, "It's the only gay bar in Schöneberg with no sexual energy."
2) The rest of the clientele are passing trade, many of them shoppers who have just staggered out of the side entrance Ka De We the 'must visit' department store in Berlin's top shopping street, Kurfürstendamm.

HIMMELFAHRT STREET PARTY

Fahrt – the word is often a source of amusement to Brits. Don't forget it's the Fahrt holiday on Thursday. Shops shut, clubs and bars open, no happy hour at Tramps. And there's the first gay street party outside Hardies Kneipe, Ansbacher Str.  opposit KDW. Sadly due to the Fahrt holiday you won't be able to pop in for that essential perfume. BLF EASTER 2010

The Berlin Leather Fetish club (BLF) and European Confederation of Motorcycle clubs (ECMC) are having their Easter Leather and Fetish meeting at the end of March to beginning of April in gay Berlin. They're holding a series of parties at Woof, Maxxx and Reizbar. There's the German Mr Leather 2010 competition, a leather dinner at the Axel hotel, boat, U-Bahn and bus tours climaxing with a huge fetish cruising party at Universal Hall on Sunday the 4th April. Watch out for Bears, Leather, Rubber, Uniform and Skin queers. Click the headline for details on each party.

RAIN STOPS

Street Street party season starts: rain comes back. DISCODAMAGED reporter Brendan braved the rain on Thursday to go down to the 29th Hardie's Strassenfest in Ansbacher Str. The rain did stop eventually and gay Berlin made the best of it.
