Dice club has closed. They're bust, we hear. The web site at  http://www.diceclub.de/ gets redirected and telephone numbers have gone way.

FROM PRIDE TO SHAME

An estimated 600,000 people partied on the streets of Berlin on Saturday celebrating CSD (Berlin gay Pride). Discodamaged sent reporter Jack and friends on a 36 hour mission to explore and enjoy. DICE CLUB – DD REVIEW

discodamaged visited Dice club on a Saturday in November and, frankly, we were disappointed. It shows promise but little direction. In October Berlin's gay mag Siegessäule reported that they were opening a darkroom. Er, we saw it, it's not open, and the walls are decorated with magazine cuttings of girlie models. If it does ever open it will be spacious. The crowd was very young and very straight. We spoke to a few. One 17 year old from Wilmersforf was friendly but his mate cowered away from the faggoty interview. Another from Steglitz said he thought the club was great because the girls were so hot - and there were lots of them. There were two dance floors, plenty of seats, bars and chill out space. The music was electro house – techno and good.
Bottom line: Good for twink hunting

DICE CLUB

After a false start in February, Dice club quietly reopened in August. They say they had bureaucratic and building issues. Any hoo, now they're open every Friday and Saturday, gays are welcome but not their particular target. They're at Voltairestr 5, Berlin-Mitte. "Continue reading" for details in the rest of September. DD REVIEW: DICE CLUB

A new club opened last week in the heart of Mitte. Team Damaged visited the club during the pre-pre-opening on the Thursday night. 

The club is still under construction but it's already open to the public. Only in February will it be possible to see the finished layout.

THE LOCATION: Dice Club is housed in a abandoned electricity station in Voltairestraße , near Alexanderplatz. Like Tresor and Berghain, Dice combines a post-industrial aesthetic with high technology sound and lights.

Dice has 2000 sq/m of floor space. When the club will be completed it will contain 3 rooms, situated on two floors and a roof  terrace.

THE EQUIPMENT: The custom-designed sound system installed in all rooms, corridors and spaces within the club has been specially designed  for DICE by Funktion One, and will be the most expensive PA ever built for a club. The lighting been designed by Room Division, whose previous work has lit up some of the best clubs and festivals in Berlin, such as Watergate, Rechenzentrum and Melt! Festival. 

THE MUSIC: the music is Minimal Techno and House. Big artists such as Luke Solomon, Gabriel Ananda and Ladytron are already being scheduled.
