Slightly old news: BT Club, which was at Danziger Str. 1 Prenzlauer Berg, has closed its doors forever.

PRENZLAUERBERG UPDATE

On Saturday DD was avoiding the tourists at Snax and went up to Prenzlauerberg for a quick tour of the local gay bars and clubs. Greifbar was empty at 10.30 so we walked down to Danziger Strasse and stopped outside BT club which opened a year ago. A notice outside says "Opening times Fridays and Saturdays 11pm-5am Gay dance party or other event". They used to be open every night of the week. How much longer will they last? We waited in a busy straight bar in Kastanien Allee until midnight and then walked back up to the naked sex party in the new Stahlrohr. There were about 50 punters there, ages 30 and up. Frankly there wasn't much sex going on for a naked sex party. Stahrohr moved to their new location in December "because the new place is bigger" according to the barman. There is a bigger darkroom, they have dispensers for free condoms AND lube, they have done a major redecoration and the toilets were among the cleanest and best we've seen in Berlin.

BT club have changed their format and we've updated your gay Berlin Calendar. Monday-Thursday open from 23:00 for men only cruising. Fridays and Saturdays are club nights, ladies allowed, also open from 23:00. In June they are advertising one special event on Saturday 12th its the blu.fm - TurnTable Tour 2008. BT club is at Danziger Str 1, Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin.

BT club - DD Review

BT Club opened at the beginning of 2008 in the heart of gay Berlin's fashionable Prenzlauer Berg district. It's spacious and clean. I went there at 9.30 on a Wednesday, expecting the happy hour to be in full swing. I was the only customer there :-( Anyway, I chatted to the charming barman Fabian. He told me that it was much busier at the weekends and took the time to showed me round the large, very clean darkroom and the good size dance floor. And he introduced me to their first ever customer who is still standing outside the toilets.

We did pay a return visit on Saturday for their 'Greek night' and it was busier. The majority of the people there were 20s straight couple doing silly things to the Greek tunes. There were some gay men there. They insisted that it is a gay club. Conclusion: Gay, but very straight friendly!
