Team damaged visited AA at August II last Wednesday. It's recently appeared on the scene and has billed itself as gay. It's gay-ish. The clientele are young well dressed Mitte types, the men slightly outnumbering the women. We reckoned about half the men were gay. But how can you really tell until you stick your hand in their trousers? It's got a small bar upstairs and they had a good DJ but there's very little room for dancing and no one was. There's another larger room downstairs which was empty of people and furnished only with two hefty armchairs and a cheap imitation Persian rug.
The outstanding feature of August II is the toilets (photo). All three cubicles have a mirror shelf at the back with handy mirrored cards lying about. If that's not an invitation to do coke, I don't know what is. We arrived about midnight and when we left about 2, the crowd upstairs was thinning out. Prices weren't bad: 7.50€ for vodka coke and 3.50 for a bottle of Pilsner Urquell.
Bottom line: Worth a visit if you are nearby.
