Federico Garcia Lorca's remains are to be exhumed in a bid to end the mystery of how he died and lay him to rest properly. It's thought the Spanish artist, who wrote about gypsies favourably and was known to be gay, was rounded up and shot with many many others at the start of the Spanish Civil War. He'D always dreamt of his violent death which he wrote about until it happened.
His family had previously said the mass grave should be left in peace but they now won't oppose a petition to start exhuming and identifying the remains. Once done they'll know for sure how and where he was murdered and decide how to lay him to rest.
