Roses is a delightful intimate gay bar in Oranien Stasse Berlin-Kreuzberg. The decor is uber kitsch. The walls are 'papered' with red hair, the bar has fish bowl lamps, mirror balls and chandeliers abound, new decorations are added often and a strong (better than double) Jack Daniels and coke is 5€. The staff are very friendly and quick, especially Gabriella who came from Manchester oops Blackpool, but now is a confirmed Berliner.
If you have the time, it is well worth going out of your way for this place. It's also convenient for Möbel Olfe and SO36.

Be prepared for extremely rude service! I was sitting at the bar and saw someone get told off for asking for a drink while one of the barmen was smoking a cigarette. Another person was slagged off for speaking pretty good but imperfect German. And a final one was told off for not asking for a beer nicely enough (I heard him say 'bitte' but the barman did not). I think this is preposterous, and me and our friends moved down the street to look for one of the many other gay options in the 'hood instead.
