MURDER IN MARIENDORF

Gay man Carsten Srock, who we reported missing five days ago, was murdered. Srock had been missing since doing a shift at Boiler Sauna on 1st January. A member of the public became suspicious and reported a 43 year old who lived in Markgrafenstrasse Mariendorf. The police visited and discovered him with self inflicted knife wounds and they found the corpse of Srock. The man has been arrested.

Bild newspaper reported today that the corpse had been chopped up. The police have not confirmed it.

And we're sure that everybody is relieved to hear that the most famous breast implants on the Berlin gay scene are safe. House of Shame's mistress Chantal had hers made in Japan in 1985 - which makes them one year older than her boyfriend.

GAY MAN MISSING

Police are appealing for witnesses who may know something of 37 year old Carsten Srock missing since New Year's day. Click the headline if you can help. Srock worked in a bank with a part time job at the Boiler sauna, where he worked until 10pm 1st Jan. After that, about 23:30, he drew a large amount of cash from the Sparkasse in Mehringdamm. He had told his boyfriend that he was meeting someone. The person is not known. Srock's mobile phone has been switched off since 2nd January.

FIRED FOR BEING HIV+

Just over a year ago a 24 year old lab assistant at Eckert und Ziegler EuroPet in Berlin was fired as discovered he was HIV+.  He took the firm to court and now a judge at the Berlin employment court has said that it was OK, because he was in his probationary period and no reason needs to be given.

Deutsche Aids-Hilfe have criticised the judgement and demand that the federal government do something about it. The judge in the Berlin court said that the case can be taken to appeal at a federal court. Read more in German at queer.de.

SPORT HELPS HIV TREATMENT?

Sport therapy helps treatment of many diseases, but does it help with HIV? Nobody knows right now and people with HIV may be reluctant to do sport because of the uncertainties. Humboldt University in Berlin want to put that right and part of the effort is for people with HIV to fill out an anonymous survey.
